It’s been a month since the official launch of Nintendo 3DS in Japan. As a newcomer, things usually goes pretty smooth. However, it seems the trend in Japan is slighting dimming off. The prove is the boatloads of second hands or used Nintendo 3DS have been found selling in Japan store. We are not sure what has happened, however, it seems the Nintendo 3DS is pretty buggy since it is pioneering a new 3D display technology. Some users in Japan has reported to experienced dizziness after short play time with the 3D feature turned on, but I believe it’s not solely because of that.

There is also a saying that Japanese people were just curious about the 3D effect on a handheld console. After tested and got bored with it, they sold it and save the money for the upcoming NGP from Sony.

However, it’s still too soon for us to make any assumption. Perhaps we should wait for few more months before judging further.

All you need to do is start moving its mouth, and Otamatone will start singing for you!

Besides popular in high technology gadgets, Japan is also a country that you can find a lot of strange, weird and unique stuffs. Our latest find on this country is this liquid called as “Magic Water” (via JapanTrends) that could let you recreate the beautiful Sakura tree on your desktop!

Sakura buds will start to bloom in the next few weeks, so if you feel you’re going to missed the ceremony in Japan, you can recreate the mini sakura tree garden on your desktop using this amazing Magic Sakura.

If competing for the same valued space with tens of thousands of others doesn’t sound like fun, then we recommend you get your hands on the Magic Sakura (まじっく桜), a desktop toy that recreates the hanami spirit in miniature.

The paper tree stands at 13.5cm (5.3″) tall and looks rather bare until you add the included “magic water”. Then pink blossom starts to appear within a few hours, eventually covering the whole tree. I guess this is the equivalent of a mini Christmas tree for the Japanese! You can have your sakura experience at home or work, minus all the crowds and fuss.

That is beautiful! For just 680 JPY or equal to $7.50 USD, you can get one set of paper tree + the magic water. It will takes 3-4 hours before seeing the full blooms and this Magic Sakura is only available inside Japan via Rakuten. No idea if they are willing to ship Internationally.

Well, It seems Sanyo marketing crews have grown some sort of ‘sense of humor’ by merging their Eneloop battery and Snoopy dog into one new gadgets called the Eneloopy Battery Checker.

Shaped like Snoopy (with white ear leaves and a long body though), Eneloopy Battery Checker will act as your Eneloop battery ‘watch dog’. It will check the battery and tell you who much power is left inside the battery. All you have to do is to put the battery inside the Eneloopy’s stomach and the Little Snoopy will tell you (with its nose) the battery with color coded indicator. Check out the following video for more detail:

Two genius Japanese researchers from Japan’s Keio University has managed to mixed both PC-connected LCD panel with microwave into one. This device is known as “CastOven”, where it will allow you to watch your favorite Youtube video while waiting for your food to cook.

Like I’ve said just now, this CastOven Microwave is PC-connected or Mac-connected. Which mean the 10.4-inch LCD display is relying on a system before it can entertain you. According to the researchers, Castoven concept (yes, it is still a concept!) is heavily relying on special Adobe AIR apps to display content on the screen. CastOven will also detecting the length of the movie by cross checking with the time it need to cook your meals. Let’s say you’ll need 5 minutes to cook your breakfast. CastOven Microwave will search for the same length video on youtube server and serves it to you to fill your waiting time.

Here’s a demo video if you need more detail information on CastOven Youtube-powered Microwave Concept:

It’s truly great to have such a device in our kitchen. And I believe some day we would be able to play some mini games using the similar technology while waiting for our food!

The company did a little announcement yesterday about the new Android-powered smartphone is going to unveiled in the next Spring Season on 2010. However, Softbank still haven’t reveal much on the hardware and specification but there is a news that the phone will come with an OLED display. Well, will this new Android-Phone as powerful as Motorola Droid Phone? I guess that’s still a mystery.

Featuring a car-like tissue holder where you can control its movement via remote control. Anything else you need to get a tissue is a basic driving skill similar to R/C car. So, whenever you are having flu, lazy to get up, no idea how to get a tissue without getting out of your bed, then you’ll just need to pick up the controller, drive it to your side, and you’ll get your tissue. Damn, this is a nonsense.

This gadget is only available in Japan for the equivalent price of $25. Pretty cheap actually… More detail on the video below:

This October 22nd might be a great day for gadget lovers. Many of the new gadget will be released on that day, especially those with Built-in Windows 7 OS. As true as Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook, which were first introduced in May. The netbook will enter to the market on October 22th, exactly the date of the appearance of Windows 7 OS. However, it’s not globally, Lenovo set it to release on Japan first before going west.

The specification of Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook that will appear in Japan carrying the specs of the following:

Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz CPU

2GB of RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphic card

12.1-inch screen with 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution

250GB HDD, WiFI, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB ports, and card reader

So there is no NVIDIA ION on this version? Well, yes. It seems Lenovo is dropping the ION chipset and as an exchange, they stuffed in the GeForce 9400M GPU into the netbook. I’m not sure why, but I don’t care as long as it can help me play some 3D games .:)

Lenovo IdeaPad S12 will carry the price tag of $760 in Japan’s market. No idea when it will hit America.

THis cute robots were entitled as ‘Chapit’, a cute robot that has been equipped with voice recognition technology so the robot can actually react and respond to your voice command. The Chapit also can communicate using a gesture based movement and even your facial expressions. Looks pretty cool, but I wonder why we need such a thing in our home. Have we grow lazy as the technology develops?

The USB flash drive has a good 16GB storage capacity and a good Japanese drawing art on the fan when you open it up.

This pure Japanese Style Device features 16GB of memory. In a shape of typical Sensu (or Hand-Held Fan), this hand made USB Memory (16GB) is made of Bamboo, Wood as well as Cotton and received 5 Layers of lacquer

The only thing that may discourage you to get one is the way to connect the flash drive to your PC or laptop. Because of the Memory stick is on the tip of the big fan, you’ll have to use extra cable to connect your PC with the flash drive up. Fail to do that might break the memory card or your PC USB port because the handheld fan is pretty heavy.

If you want to get one, it could set you back at ¥ 27,500.00 or equal to USD $293. Oops…
