Here is another one of the macbook air (for 11-inch model) sleeve that could disguise the laptop as an important document stored inside your messenger bag.

I’ve seen some of the cool looking (as well as realistic) envelope case/sleeve made for macbook air or macbook pro. But this MacVelope has the most casual looking that will fool peopel into thinking that envelope is storing papers instead of your precious macbook air.

It appears iFixit has get themselves the new MacBook Air and they have torn it down to the core. However, unlike any other system that they’ve torn down, this MacBook Air show them the full proprietary parts, where Apple has sealed them with 5-point security Torx screws.

• The flip-open port door has been scrapped and the IR sensor and sleep LED are gone. In exchange, the new model manages to fit an extra USB 2.0 port along its right edge.
• Apple apparently doesn’t want you inside this thing. They decided to use proprietary 5-point security Torx screws to attach the lower case. Once inside, the Air is held together with more normal 6-point T5 and T8 Torx screws.
• The battery is comprised of six individual lithium-polymer cells, which combine to form a 35 Watt-hour battery.
• Although in a different form factor, the new MacBook Air uses the same Broadcom BCM943224 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip as the current lineup of MacBook Pros.
• The back of the trackpad has a Broadcom BCM5976A0K chip on it, likely responsible for the multi-touch capabilities of the the trackpad.
• The 11.6″ MacBook Air features a resolution of 1366×768. That’s a few more pixels and noticeably more widescreen (16×9 vs 16×10) than the 1280×800 resolution of previous Air models. In a welcome improvement, Apple has substantially enhanced the rigidity of the display assembly.

Apple has updated their Macbook Air product line with two new model that is just 0.68 inches (at the thickest point) thin! The design is really impressive. Just look at the picture above, I thought it’s a new stylus pen with built-in USB port and headphone jack, but I was wrong. That is the side view of the new Apple Macbook Air, both models that comes with different screen size at 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch has the exact some thickness.

The New Apple Macbook Air is just 2.9 pounds in weight, it’s super lightweight, especially when it has carried an impressive specs for a slim-type mobile laptop.

The System will come either with Intel Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz or Core 2 Duo 1.6Ghz, Up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, SSD-driven storage and the amazing NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM (shared). That means gaming is made possible even on this slim type system.

The most impressive features according to my observation is the battery life. Even it’s not using any CULV type of CPU, this new Apple Macbook Air is capable of working continuously for 5 hours (11.6-inch model) or 7 hours (13.3-inch model) and both models can standby for 30 days per charge.

Other important features also including the usual multi-touch trackpad, WiFi b/g/n, bluetooth 2.1+EDR, facetime camera, stereo speakers and omni-directional microphone.

Even better, this new Apple MacBook Air is now updated with a Software Reinstall Drive, instead of the classical Disc restoration tool. This would be nice for storage as the Reinstall Drive is very small, taking the form of a pico-size USB flash drive.

Out of everything, the most impressive chances are the pricing. Now you can get the new Macbook Air for just $999 (11.6-inch model) or $1,299 (13.3-inch model). This is quite a price drop since the last version.

For dressing up the logo, the creator uses 53 individual 25.5 carats of ‘I’F’ flawless diamonds studded on to the apple logo.

The overall transformation has added some weight into this portable macbook air laptop. The total weight after adding the gold layer is 2,600 grams. No pricing details, but never hope to get one if you are low or mid-earner that live on paycheck to paycheck. Oh well… Count me out!

Airis Praxis Slim Air netbook is another challenger to the thickness of Macbook Air. Although it’s not as thin and as slim as Dell Adamo XPS, we can group this Airis Praxis Slim Air into the slimmest netbook category.

The system is powered by Intel Atom 1.6Ghz processor, minimum 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and integrated graphic card GMA 950 chipset. Well, it does have a low specs, but I’m sure that’s not the sales point. The core feature is probably the thickness that hover at 25mm or about 0.9-inch, and the weighs in 1.2kg or 2.6 pounds.

The screen of Airis Praxis Slim Air is 12-inch, capable of displaying 1366×768 resolution, equipped with Webcam and built-in mic/speaker. You go wireless with Airis Praxi Slim Air netbook because it also has built-in WiFi, or use USB modem on the two USB ports.
