Even Dell hasn’t given any comment on their new MID (Mobile Internet Device), but they has just received a WiFi certification for their new unknown MID. The WiFi Certification has described this new MID from Dell as a Smartphone with dual-mode (Wi-Fi and cellular) and given the codename of M01M.

Some experts suspected the new MID tablet as the new Dell Streak 2 with WiFi b/g/n support. However, it’s purely a groundless speculation as Dell still keep their lips sealed. Hopefully, we hope Dell would show off this device in January 2011 at CES 2011 Expo.

Window from China has announced their new product called N9, which is a handwriting friendly MID powered by Android 2.1 OS from Google. Window N9 has the look of a tablet device, with 7-inch WVGA display, Rockchip RK2818 processor + DSP clocked at 600MHz, 256MB RAM, and it has either WiFi or 3G connectivity.

A Chinese company called SmartDevices has just displayed their latest Android MID called “SmartQ V3″ that looks pretty plain and clean. Although the device is illustrated together with a green grass (eco-friendly), this SmartQ V3 is not really a device designed with eco-friendly in mind. It’s a common Android MID that uses rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery to power up. However, SmartDevices SmartQ V3 MID did come with a slower processor (600MHz ARM11 CPU) so it might lower a bit of the energy usage, but it’s will not significant.

Aside from the CPU, SmartDevices SmartQ V3 Android MID is packed with 4.3-inch resistive touchscreen display that support 800 x 480 pixels, has 256MB DDR2, USB OTG port, one mini-HDMI port and it will come with Google Android 2.1.

No release date announced yet, however, SmartDevices SmartQ V3 Android MID will cost you about 650 Yuan or about $96 only.

Unlike their previous series of RAmos PMP / MID, this RAmos W9 is pretty camera shy. What I mean is, the RAmos W9 get pictured from the sideways and the rear side, but no front picture is taken for promotion. This is strange, or perhaps it’s somekind of promotion method to ‘tease’ their market before actually showing out the RAmos W9′s pretty face.

As what’s written in our source, RAmos W9 Android MID is comiwng with Androind 2.1 OS and powered by Rockchip RK2818 processor. It also has a 7-inch display (unconfirmed yet) and by judging from RAmos predecessor W7 MID, RAmos W9 Android MID should be coming (or better) with 128MB RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity, Flash Lite and 8GB of built-in storage.

The New version of Viliv N5 is going to launch soon in the state. This device was first revealed at CES 2010, where it’s introduced as a device that blurred the line between mobile Internet and netbook. Measuring at just 6.8-inch x 3.4-inch x 1-inch only, Viliv N5 has been equipped with a large enough 4.8-inch screen that could display up to 1024 x 600 pixels resolution.

Dynamism Viliv N5 is powered by 1.3Ghz Intel Atom Z520 pine trial processor, 32GB SSD, 1GB built-in RAM, and a battery that could gives you 6 hours continuous operations.

For typing purposes, Dynamism Viliv N5 has a QWERTY keyboard provided. However, fat fingers might find problems typing with those flat keys.

Connection-wise, Viliv N5 has been equipped with 802.11/b/g/n WiFi connection, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, optional 3G modem, one USB port (for charging or connecting with PC) and one microSD slot.

Well, although Dynamism said the Viliv N5 is going to roll out very-very soon, there is no exact launch date revealed.

It’s quite strange to hear a device being manufactured by an unknown manufacturer. Some might guessing it has a low quality because of the unknown origins and some might just ignore the product. However, This X10 is something you certainly want to check out although it’s manufactured by anonymous company. This X10 is an Mobile Internet Device (MID) that promises 1080p output although it just cost $179.99.

X10 MID is running Windows CE 6 OS instead of Android, has an HDMI output, featuring 256MB RAM, 2GB flash storage, WiFi and GPS also available. It has 7-inch touchscreen where you can display up to 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The biggest downside of this X10 MID is problem the anonymous company. You’ll literally get no customer support at all if you buy it, and I’m confused where can you get one either.

Mio, a company who focus on creating GPS unit is introducing a new series of Mio Moov V780 GPS device in the CeBIT 2010. This Mio Moov V780 has the advantage of 7-inch display that could double as a media tablet and MID. The display can hold 800 x480 pixel resolution, and it has a built-in flash-enabled web browser allowing the possibility of viewing online videos via 802.11g, 3G or WiMax connectivity.

Mio Moov V780 is even more thoughtful on this section because they have also included a dedicated Youtube client in the device, together with some other application for email (Microsoft Exchange) and touch enabled music and picture browsers. As for the decoding capability, Mio Moov V780 can decode 720p video with native resolution through a HDMI connection. It also has a digital TV Tuner supporting 1Seg in Japan, T-DMB in Korea and DVB-T om the Europe.

Mio Moov V780 comes with 4GB of built-in memory, but it’s upgradable via microSDHC memory card. Up to date, the availability and price list remains undisclosed.

Sagem has introduced yet another Internet Tablet under the name of ‘Orange Tabbee’. This Internet Tablet is powered by unspecified ARM processor, a good 7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, and internally you’ll find an Linux-OS powering the backend service.

Sagem Orange TabBee is capable of sustaining continuous web-browsing for 3-hours (max) on each charge. No idea how long you should wait for each full charge but this Internet Tablet is lack of battery performance compared to netbook. However, it does stuffed with whole lot of stuffs that you may need to go on to your online profiles, checking news, shopping, twittering, or even watching movie at Youtube thanks to the Flash 9 compatibility built inside.

Fujitsu has updated their UMPC line with new UH900 Multitouch MID. This MID comes with 5.6-inch WXGA display, powered by Intel Atom Z530 processor, 64GB SSD, and it also equipped with Bluetooth and WiFi connection.

One more wireless connection that you can enjoy is the built-in 3.5G WWAN that allow you to use your local SIM card to go online, and you can enjoy video chatting with its web cam and stereo microphone. Fujitsu Lifebook UH900 UMPC will come with Windows 7 pre-installed, and the battery will be able to hold up to 3 hours using the optimized system setting. NTT has unveiled the latest combo gadget entitled as ‘Hikari iFrame’, an Android Powered Table that do multi-purpose serving as both Digital Picture Frame and a MID/Mobile Internet Device where you can surf the web in a portable manner.

The interface is a 7-inch touchscreen display, has a built-in speaker, alarm clock, USB port, SD card reader and Wi-Fi connectivity to allow you to go online via your nearest hotspot. Hikari iFrame has no keyboard, which means all your activity will be happened on the touchscreen panel. Though you might feel some sort of difficulty when you want to navigate to the web. Hikari iFrame is set to release on Japan next year, and the retail price is between $220 and $330.

Soyea, a Chinese manufacturer has released another new MID or known as Mobile Internet Device. This device has been powered by Intel Atom processor 1.2Ghz, which I think is rare to see an Atom powering up MID. Even so, Soyea Z5 MID has it. Z5 MID also boasts a cool and large 5-inch touchscreen supports up to 800×480 pixels resolution, while it also got one 1GB RAM built-in.

Since Soyea Z5 MID is an Internet device, they are pretty thoughtful to include both Wi-Fi and 3G connection so you can either find the nearest hotspot or use your own SIM card to go online. You can also connect your bluetooth devices to Soyea Z5 MID because bluetooth 2.0 + EDR is also available in this device.

On the storage wise, Soyea Z5 MID has a space of 8GB backed by a Solid State Drive interface. Which mean this device is shockproof enough to handle gentle bumps or knocks. You can even expand the capacity using the provided MicroSD memory card slot. Speakers, webcam, mini USB port and VGA port also exist to support your additional needs.

DataWind has make another announcement on their new product – the UbiSurfer Netbook after their PocketSurfer3 Mobile Internet Device.

UbiSurfer is a special-made netbook for browsing and it’s equipped with Dual-bad GPRS and Sim Card slot. It has a 7-inch (800×480)screen size similar to a digital photo frame‘s screen, and it also has a Wi-Fi 802.11b/g for finding the nearest hotspot to go online. If all of the SIM card and Wi-Fi internet connection is unavailable, Datawind UBiSurfer also comes with Ethernet connections so you can plug in a LAN Cable and surf with it.

DataWind Ubisurfer has a minimum sum of memory, at 128MB RAM only and 1GB flash memory storage. I has a built-in Firefox as your browser, and Datawind’s web acceleration system. The downside that probably pretty annoying is that Ubisurfer can’t watch online video streaming or listening to an online podcast. This, I can say, is the major drawback for people and they’ll have to think twice before landing their GBP159.99 for this device.

Datawind has released their third version of Pocket Surfer on 9th of July and it’s now fully packed with features and new ability. It’s been a popular mobile internet device, PocketSurfer3 now has a big 5-inch 640×240 LCD screen and comes with touchpad mouse pointer at the top right corner.

PocketSurfer3 is now GPS ready, means you can use it as your GPS navigator and any other GPS related activity. You can use it to surf the web containing HTML and graphics, Java, but no word whether PocketSurfer3 to support CSS3 Styling or not.

Viliv S7 UMPC or the so called Productivity MID was first shown in 2008 as a prototype mobile device that run on Intel’s Atom Z520 processor. This Viliv looks nice and small, not so thin though but at least you can hold it with your palm like you would holding a HP Mini 1000 or HP Mini 2140. It also featured a QWERTY keyboard with convertible screen. See below for more detail:

The processor clock speed is 1.33Ghz, with the minimum 1GB RAM, you can obviously use it to surf the web without major problem. But let’s hope you’re not going to use it for playing game.

This Viliv S7 UMPC has 7-inch convertible touchscreen display, where you can flip the screen and make it as a note book similar to gigabyte M912M. Viliv S7 MID has 60GB HDD, and the final mode will have a built-in DMB digital TV tuner. Unfortunately, this Viliv S7 still have no release date published yet.

If you want to search for a cheap MID, you should have a look at this cool and cheap Cube MID B53WIFI manufactured by China. It’s only $117 (779 Yuan), rate as the cheapest MID up to date by PMPToday. This Cube MID B53WIFI has a built-in WiFi functionality, has large 4.3-inch touchscreen display operated by Linux OS and it can play most of video files including Real Movie (RMVB). But there is one feature that is quite strange. It has a built in server multimedia search engine, which probably capable of search stuff via the Cube MID B53WIFI in China.
