Talking about minimalistic design, this Plug and Player MP3 player design should be counted as one. It’s a cool concept that mix both power plug (european style) and iPod like MP3 player into one compact design that you can charge it directly on the outlet without the need of extra adapter or cable. The player itself is the charger.

It works, however, the design is a bit awkward and looks pretty ‘dangerous’ when you are trying to listen to your songs while it’s recharging. As if you are connected to the power outlet and your ears are at stack and ready to be recharged like a robot. There are two scenarios when something goes wrong with the MP3 player. You will either goes directly to meet your Creator or you will be transform into an electro boy with super-charged super power.

Well, nothing wrong with the design. It’s just me that tend to think weirdly when seeing unique stuff being created.

Sleepy heads might find waking up in the morning their biggest problem in their life. That’s why they’ve armed themselves with various kind of alarm clocks to knock themeselves out of their bed before running late to work. However, it seems regular alarm clock is not their stuff anymore. They can just hit the button to stop the morning war-cry and continue their sleep. That’s why a new alarm should be invented, and that’s where Aphelion Clock concept appear!

This is the unique alarm clock design that guarantee you to wake up in annoyance, but also make sure you are awake sitting in your bed complaining the cruel day. The Aphelion Clock will shoot a ball when the alarm goes off, and the only way to stop the alarm is to find the ball and put it back to the holder. It sounds like an easy task but believe me, it’s very difficult when you’ve just woke up and force to do the searching. And that’s also the reason that you should really fully awake to find the ball or the alarm won’t stop crying out loud!

Interesting clock concept. The designer even has added a Radio Tuner and MP3 player input, and a large display to show the clock.

You might never heard about Earlyadopters, a company from Korea who create bunch of cool gadgets. Their recent invention is ‘The AUDIO system’, a concept that looks like a strange TV antenna with three bars of irons with different length on each side. According to EarlyAdopter, this AUDIO System concept is an MP3 player, an FM/AM Tuner and a DMB/DAB tuner combo. Depending on which mode to stay, the three bars will have different functions.

As for MP3 Player, the AUDIO system supports 32GB SDHC memory card playback and it has 3.5mm stereo jack for connecting your media player to the back. This concept looks interesting although it has a weird design. The bars might say in the way if you don’t have a spacious area to place this AUDIO system, but it might have some kind of minimalistic design that is suitable for modern house.

Certainly, this Star Wars Lightsaber MP3 Player is for fans only. It features the real shape of a lightsaber and it will make real noises in your ears. Measures in 3.14 inch, the Star Wars Lightsaber MP3 Player has available in two models that you can see it below:

This Star Wars Lightsaber MP3 Player also has microSD card slot where you can use it to browse for your music content. One downside though, the MP3 Player has no such thing as LED display or visual indication to let you know what track is playing at the moment. So you’ll probably need some Jedy-wise skill to predict your content, or perhaps be smarter by noting down the song list before playing the on this lightsaber MP3 player.

Just for $24, you can go as StarWar-ish as you can.

iRiver has launched their latest MP3 Player in China market which is known as N20 that has a double purpose to serves as both music player and cool necklace.

iRiver N20 featuring 128×56 PMOLED display and iRiver Extreme Sound Engine or IESE. This is certainly a new Jargon that floating in the blogosphere recently. The IESE is a sound enhancement technology to give you more precise and accurate sounding effect, while the PMOLED is the variant of AMOLED display, which stand for Passive Matrix OLED. More detail in the FYI quote.

iRiver N20 MP3 Player will support MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, OGG, and WAV files. Quite a good range of supported files, the iRiver N20 has a small dimension of 26×55.5.13mm, weighs in 35g only. You can find it on two size of 2GB and 4GB.

FYI: PMOLED Display on iRiver N20 MP3 Player

[...] With Passive-Matrix OLEDs, the display is controlled by switching on rows and columns. When you turn on row number x and column number y, the pixel at the intersection is lit – and emits light. Each time you can choose just one pixel to light. So you have to turn these on and off very quickly. You do so in a certain sequence, and create the desired image. This is somewhat like the interlace-system used in old CRTs, but the control is done pixel-by-pixel.

PMOLEDs are very easy and cheap to build, but they are limited to small sizes (up to 3″, typically). The image displaying is a bit complicated (because of the row/column method). Also the power consumption is not as good as AMOLEDs. [...]

You guess what, this USB Jewel Square Necklace MP3 player is another cool creation by Brando. They just can’t stop inventing gadget to make a hole in Geeky-minded guy’s wallet. How can one can resist the temptation to buy this cool necklace for their girlfriend?!

The MP3 player is masked properly with colored fake gems. There are Red, Blue and green, the pixelated pattern of the gem really looks good for the wearer. On the specification side, the MP3 player could play MP3, WMA, and WAV files. You can store lots of your tunes into this MP3 player because it comes with 4GB size (2GB also available), priced at $29 for 4GB version, while it’s $26 for the 2GB version. I would rather get the 4GB version to save more!

Most of us usually think morning as an annoying moment, especially Monday morning or the first morning after a long vacation. If you can brighten your day up with some seamlessly integrated Music player inside your bathroom and play your favorite music there, probably you will be able to cheer up a little and start your day in a better condition.

Stocco’s Maitre Bathroom Mirror is perhaps the coolest Bathroom Mirror I’ve ever seen (beside that Razor Mirror). Beside it has a crystal clear surface to see your charming face, it has a built-in touchscreen button and MP3 player (also a FM Radio tuner).

Here is a new thinnest MP3 player produced by the country of Sakura (Japan). The MP3 Player is shaped like your Visa Credit Card with some real look of a credit card.

The manufacturer even add a line of numbers code to “fake” the mp3 player as your credit card.

Credit card sized MP3 player looks really cool with 8 buttons to navigate through your songs collection. You’d also found an OLED display (85 x 54mm) and a 3.5mm jack port at the rear side.

The question is, how large is the internal storage? Can we expand the memory? By looking at the picture above, it seems not expandable. No word on pricing and availability yet.

It’s interesting to see all of those features are stored inside this 1cm thick only MP3 player, I think it’s more than an MP3 player now. I should call it a PMP instead.
