While the lacking in USB port can be covered with USB Hub, there is no cost effective or built-in capability yet to support multi-display on a laptop so user can have more than two or three display to expand their workspace.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hp-envy-17-with-ATI-Eyefinity-multi-display.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-15452];player=img;"><img src="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hp-envy-17-with-ATI-Eyefinity-multi-display-600x204.jpg" alt="hp-envy-17-with-ATI-Eyefinity-multi-display" title="hp-envy-17-with-ATI-Eyefinity-multi-display" width="600" height="204" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-15454" /></a></p>
<p>Fortunately, <a href="http://www.techfresh.net/hp-envy-17-supports-up-to-three-external-displays/">HP Envy 17</a> has coming with ATI Eyefinity multi-display technology that could cover that hole. <a href="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/2010/05/06/new-range-of-hp-envy-the-envy-14-and-envy-17-laptops/">HP Envy 17</a>, the newcomer in the Envy family is getting a nice multi-display treat. You can actually expand or add up to three external displays instantly without any third party device needed.</p>
<p><span id="more-15452"></span>HP Envy 17 laptop is one hell of laptop that has been packed with mouth watering features. Beside the ATI Eyefinity multi-display technology, HP Envy 17 base-rigs is powered by 2.26Ghz Intel Core i5, 4GB or RAM, 320GB HDD, 17-inch half-HD (1600 x 900) LCD screen, and a discreet ATI Radeon HD 5850 graphic card.</p>
<p>The base rigs will cost you $1,400+, while HP is recommended user to go higher by getting on Core i7 instead of Core i5, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 17-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) LCD display and same ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU. This configuration will cost you $2,150+ at least.</p>
<p>Both models has come with HP TrueVision HD webcam and 6-cell LIthium-Ion Battery for 2.5-hours of operation time, or you can upgraded to 9-cell battery for another extra 1.25 hours.</p>

<p>Amazing, this is amazing! Matrox is unveiling the world&#8217;s first PCIe X16 card that could sports up to 8 monitors simultaneously all at once. This is a wonderful gadget for monitor junkie who love to get bunch of monitors staring at them.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-displayport-adapter.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-12250];player=img;"><img src="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-displayport-adapter.jpg" alt="matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-displayport-adapter" title="matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-displayport-adapter" width="500" height="300" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12255" /></a></p>
<p>It might looks like an electronic octopus with 8 tentacles (if you have some little sense of humor, of course) because the device did come with 8 cables of miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort adapters. Matrox even has bundled the Matrox M9188 PCIe x16 card with a dedicated software for multiple monitor management.</p>
<p>Having 8 monitors all at once without many hub or device such as <a href="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/tag/displaylink/">displaylinks</a> nested behind your workspace is just purely wonderful because lesser cable hassle to take care of.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-8.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-12250];player=img;"><img src="http://www.hardwaresphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-8.jpg" alt="matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-8" title="matrox-M9188-pcie-x16-multi-monitor-card-8" width="500" height="279" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12252" /></a></p>
<p>However, this wonderful PCIe x16 has quite a price to pay if you want to own one. The price tag of Matrox M9188 PCIe x16 is hovering above the level of one gaming laptop, which is at $1,995. Okay, it might sounds expensive, but when you really have to stuff your desktop with more 8 screen without this device, it will cost even higher.</p>
