Samsung is really a fans of “9″ in this 2011. After their Series 9 Curvy Asymmetric HDTV launched, now they’ve got another 9 series notebook that was just getting new price update and scheduled to invade the store in next month February 2011.

This slim type notebook is expected to be selling at $1,599, carrying the specification like 1.4GHz Intel Core i5-2537 CPU, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 13.3-inch LED backlit display with 400 nits of brightness, weighing in 2.89 pounds and it has come with stereo speaker with subwoofer, Wi-Fi N and WiMAX connectivity.

Here is another rugged notebook for today. Panasonic has released a rugged laptop computer (MIL-STD-810G certified) that featuring Intel’s latest Core i3 and Core i5 processors, as well as the high-performance ATI Radeon HD 5650 graphic card.

The rugged notebook is codenamed as Toughbook 31, a 13.1-inch notebook with touchscreen LED display supporting 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. The overall feel of this rugged notebook is like carrying a suitcase, and it might pretty heavy for you who love lightweight laptop or netbook.

For the performance, it might not as good as any gaming-ready laptop although Panasonic Toughbook 31 (the lower end) will cost like one of them at $3,799. Toughbook 31 rugged notebook has got 2GB of DDR3 1066MHz RAM come by default, but you can upgrade it to 8GB if you are willing to pay more.

On the storage factor, Panasonic Toughbook 31 has got 160GB of HDD for the Intel Core i3 model (along with Intel’s HM55 graphic card), while the rugged notebook can have 250GB HDD with Core i5 model.

Special on the Core i5 model, Toughbook 31 is equipped with ATI Radeon HD5650 for better graphical performance. This notebook will be available soon in this week.

MSI has released a new laptop last week, codenamed as CX705MX. This laptop is a 17.3-inch laptop, probably best fit for a desktop replacement that require no serious cutting edge technologies intact.

MSI CX705MX laptop is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processor, DDR2 RAM, 250GB-500GB storage, and 512MB ATI Radeon HD 545V GPU with dedicated VRAM of 512MB. This type of graphic card will let you enjoy watching HD video on 1600 x 900 resolution screen without lag. But gaming on this kind of specification is questionable and probably will be a disappointment.

MSI CX705MX laptop is targeted to those who want a mobile home theater, because beside letting you enjoy HD video effortlessly, it also has been equipped with 2x 2W speakers and mini subwoofer.

Connection-wise, MSI CX705MX laptop has included a HDMI 1.3 port, one VGA output, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, Ethernet, 3 USB port and 4-in-1 memory card reader. MSI CX705MX will be running on Windows 7 home premium OS, but we have no details on the pricing info yet.

You will probably want to buy this laptop for desktop replacement, while for mobile usage I’ll recommend a netbook instead.

Sony, the giant manufacturer from Japan has introduced another new series to their existing VAIO brand. Known as the Y-Series, this model were introduced as the energy efficient ultra portable notebook that measure in just 1.2-inch slim and weigh in 1.78kg only.

Sony VAIO Y Series is embedding Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 ultra-Low voltage processor (CULV) to allow the notebook running with low power consumption. Specification-wise, Sony carrying 8GB of RAM, 13.3-inch LED backlit (support 1366 x768 pixels resolutions) display, 500GB of HDD, and a durable magnesium casing protecting the notebook.

You can also find WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Stereo Bluetooth technology, HDMI output, and one rechargeable battery that could provide about 7 hours of battery life. No idea about the pricing and availability yet.

Last time when we reported the Dell Adamo in one of our post, the pricing is surprisingly high at 1,999.99 with minimum specification. Perhaps to help their user to reach this laptop easier, Dell has slashed down a whopping $500 for all Dell Adamo Notebook models. However, even after the slashed down the price remain high at $1,499, come with 1.2Ghz Core 2 Duo processor and Integrated graphic card only.

Perhaps the thing that made this laptop expensive is the 128GB SSD storage drive. If Dell has the option to get the Rotary hard drive, the price should be able to slash down a couple of hundred bucks. But the strong point of sales for Dell Adamo is the design that looks very chic and stylish. If you care for your lifestyle more than what the notebook can gives you, this is certainly a good deal for you.

Perhaps to synchronize the look with the new Dell Inspiron 17 laptop, Dell has fully redesigned their Dell Inspiron 13 series. Together with the redesign, Dell has stuff in more power into the 13 series by offering a Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU, full-size keyboard, a bit lighter than the previous version, has LED backlit 16:9 display, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi, bluetooth, HDMI and eSATA port. With the ATI GPU, it seems you can now use this Dell Inspiron 13 laptop to do some light 3D gaming.

You can also upgraded the RAM up to 8GB if you are using Vista 64-bit OS. The Display is actually HD with 720p native resolution, so you can watch HD movie via its external DVD drive. Dell Inspiron 13 laptop starting price is $1,199. Expect for more if you need stronger specs.

Toshiba affordable laptop, the Toshiba M505-S4940 is getting a nice art design treatment to eliminate the dullness of its chassis. From the plain black chassis with Toshiba logo turned into a futuristic and modern lining style. Although it’s not as flourish as Vivienne Tam design, it still has a fresh look instead of a dull black color.

Toshiba is a 14.1-inch laptop, comes with slow Dual Core T4200 2.0Ghz processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB of hard drive, Webcam and DVD burner. It turn out the extra design is free since the pricing stay the same at $649.99. This laptop is suitable for office works, probably some light mini games should be fine. Acer has released an announcement of their new Gateway Laptop and it’s their first laptop system to have the Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9000 2.0Ghz attached. The code name of this Acer Gateway is P79003FX, it has a huge 17-inch that support 1440×900 maximum resolution, and you will get other high specs such as 4GB of RAM, 500GB of HDD (not SSD yet), eSATA, HDMI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and last but not least the Blu-Ray Drive for play HD video and contents. No further information about what kind of GPU attached on this laptop.

Acer Gateway P79003FX core 2 quad notebook will be first available in Japan, but no news when it will hit the US market and the worldwide availability. The price tag for this Gateway P79003FX notebook is 190,000 Yen or equal to €1465.

MSI has introduced us their latest X400 ultra portable notebook and they’ve also come up with more detail specification and features. MSI X400 Ultraportable notebook is coming with an unique ‘personalized color bezel around the side of the frame and including the trackpad frame.

MSI X400 has been touted as the thinnest and lightest notebook in the market, beating all previous thinnest laptop system because this MSI X400 has only 1-inch of thickness and weighs in a mere 3.3 pounds.

MSI X400 is powered by Intel’s Consumer Ultra Low Voltage or CULV processor, running with 2GB RAM (DDR3?), 320GB hard drive (not SSD), integrated Intel GMA 4500 video with HDMI output, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi and optional Blu-ray Drive.

After some cool gaming laptops appeared (Alienware and CyberPower Xplorer) ASUS also has joined the party by releasing their latest gaming laptop coded as ASUS G60. This ASUS G60 Gaming laptop has most of the advanced features and specification, such as powered by Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, the cool NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260m graphic card, 1TB SSD, HDMI, 2MP Webcam, firewire, gigabit and their unique ‘turbo’ button to boost the gaming performance / overclocking. This ASUS G60 gaming laptop looks blur in the pictures, but it should have a highly glossy surface with 16-inch display unit.

No further detail on ASUS G60 gaming notebook, but we’ll update again with the detail when it has become available in this September (UK). The price tag stating in our source is £1500 about $2440. Pretty high mark, but I believe the full specification will pay out the price.

After the buzz with Sony VAIO P Series, Sony has come up with another new notebook series. The VAIO NW Series, is the series that push the “Gracefully thin” to the edge of their marketing. With the thickness of just 1.2-inch, it should be ready for the thin Laptop competition, together with Macbook Air.

Sony VAIO NW Series come with NW180J/S as the basic model. This basic model is powered by 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (Luckily it’s not Atom!), pretty big 4GB DDR2 RAM (not DDR3, suck), 400GB hard drive, ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphic card (Yay for this!), 15 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, and a Blu-Ray drive and built-in WiFi. The price is estimated to be around $800 while the availability remain unknown.

Okay you may shout how many series Sony plan to release each month, but all I can say is this month is special. It seems Sony want to flood the market with lots of new series this month. Reason? I don’t know. Go ask Sony if you have to!
