Recently Samsung has inserted a new Pico projector called SP-H03. Samsung SP-H03 features 1GB internal memory (upgradable to 16GB), 30 Lumens, WVGA resolution at 854×480), built-in 1W speaker, built-in rechargeable battery that could gives you about 2-hours of battery life and it’s only weighing in 6 ounces only.

The projector has already using LED based lamp, which mean it might get a little bit hot in a short time usage. However, it can produce an impressive display even on an acceptable long range. For navigation, there are touch sensitive buttons at the upper side, including the on/off button.

For the best part, this Samsusng SP-H03 even supports multiple type of multimedia codecs such as AVI, MP4, ASF, MPG, RM, FLV, WMV video files and MP3, MP2, WAV, WMA, FLAC, APE, RA audio files. Everything is stuffed into 2.5 x 1.5 x 2.5 inches block that looks like a magic black box from the future that could display almost any files you throw in.

However, I’m doubt on the brightness level as it’s only 30 Lumens. It’s not really awful though, at least it can give you a bright 32 or 40 inch large display. Beyond that? I doubt it can display picture properly…

Above anything, Samsung SP-H03 will retails for $300 each.

This projector is very lightweight at 113 grams only, however, it can provide 640×480 pixels resolution with brightness level of 15 lumens. No idea how large the display this Favi E1 LED Pico projector can produce, however, it should be about the same size at Chinavasion LED pico projector that we have reviewed yesterday.

Favi E1 LED pico projector require 4 AA batteries to run properly (no idea how long it can work continuously), and it has VGA, Composite, and one mini-USB output. Pretty complete and you can actually inject an external source such as console of PMP.

Favi E1 LED Pico Projector MSRP is $300. No idea where to get one.

Another Pico Projector has pop up. This time, Sapphire is taking the lead with their latest Mini-Projector 101 Pico-sized projector. This Sapphire Mini-Projector 101 promises a super-bright projection result with impressive lamp life at 20,000 hours. This pico projector has implemented the multi-chip super bright LED technology, and it was built base on LCoS technology.

Sapphire Mini-Projector 101 pico projector has the max 640×480 VGA resolution, 200:1 contrast ratio, and 14 lumens brightness level. Even though Sapphire Mini-Projector 101 is small and shape like a cell phone, it can produce up to 65-inch images within a short distant. Sapphire Mini-Projector 101 also has built-in 0.5W stereo speakers so you can actually hear something without plug in a speaker system. Pretty thoughtful, eh?

More tasty bonus, Sapphire Mini-Projector 101 pico projector has included iPod/iPhone adapter. Excellent, let’s hope iPad also compatible.

UFO planes have inspired a lot of designers to make their product concept similar to its shape. I have no idea if this OO is also inspired by the extraterrestrial objects, but David Riesenberg has done a supreme job designing a sleek, glossy and compact size of a wireless projector that could operate independently from any wire for up to 3 hours using its internal Li-Ion battery.

OO, such a short name might have a great impact on customer’s mind because it’s so easy to remember. According to David Riesenberg, his UFO-shaped Wireless Projector concept is not only compact, it is also capable of displaying HD content at 1080p resolution, and it will have its own internal SSD storage to store the presentation/media files for playback.

With the combination of WIFI and internal storage, the OO can act as both an extender/duplicator of an external display or as a wireless media projector/streamer with built in decoding capabilities. The three independently articulated legs allow the OO to be tilted for optimal positioning. Full interaction with the projector is done via the touch screen remote but the projector can be operated without it in extender/duplicator mode after pre configuration.

OO Wireless Projector is going to use semi monocoque carbon fiber structure as the frame and body protection, resulting in a sturdy construction but lightweight to carry around.

However, the size is not really that portable (in comparison to Pico projector), which mean you still have to carry a dedicated bag to store this OO wireless projector when trying to move it from place to place. Pico projector can be stuffed together with your laptop bag, but until today, no Pico projector can display HD content yet.

Well, each hardware has it own advantages and disadvantages. Although this OO wireless projector is still in a concept stage, I believe when it has become available, it will blast the competition.
