Liquids are our favorite things to drink. And puzzles are our favorite things to solve. Combine the two, and you have the perfect way to quench your thirst while satiating your love of puzzles. What could we be talking about? Why the Rubik’s Cube Mug, of course (you know, the thing that’s in all these pictures).

Each Rubik’s Cube Mug comes presolved (and, really, it can’t be messed up, so there). Although it seems difficult to drink out of a cube, the lip is actually curved a bit for your comfort. It’s a mug. It’s a Rubik’s Cube. It’s the Rubik’s Cube Mug! Drink from one of the world’s most beloved puzzles, and show your pride in the Cube that Rubik built.

I wonder what will the world champion in solving rubik’s cube say when he is presented with this ‘gross’ looking brain pattern rubik’s cube puzzle box.
Apparently, this new rubik’s cube design by Jason Freeny is not only losing its color, it’s also adding a brain pattern to the surface to challenge you to solve the puzzle using the patterns.

Now, if the puzzle is done in front of you, you might have the chance to memorize the pattern of movement and solve it accordingly (if you have a nice memory, of course). However, if it’s done without your notice, you’ll have hard time to solve it since there is no color to make a guide for.

Developed by Dr. Derrick Niederman from MIT, the 36 Cube is a new puzzle game that children may want to avoid playing this stuff before getting crazy and pulling hairs out of the head.

Sudoku is hunky-dory but we like solving something we can get our mitts around. After all, hurling a tangible object across the room is far more satisfying than stabbing paper with a biro. Maybe that’s why we love 36 Cube. Why you little…

A 3D take on Sudoku, this multi-award-winning puzzle will have you gripped in seconds, infuriated for hours and riveted for life. The idea is to place all 36 towers onto its skyline-style base to form a level cube. Sounds easy but the towers vary in height, as do the bits on the base, and you can’t repeat the same colour in any single row or column. Hmmm…

36 Cube Puzzle Features:

Nearly impossible puzzle to solve

Like a 3D Sudoku

Invented by Dr. Derrick Niederman of MIT

Based on Euler’s 36 officer problem

Single player game

36 blocks to play in 6 varying heights and 6 colours

Win by placing all 36 pieces correctly following just two rules:

There must be only one of each coloured tower in each row and column

The towers must fit into the base to form a perfectly smooth cube

It seems easy at first but is really, really hard to win!

Dare to take the challenge? Okay, this 36 Cube puzzle is currently in stock at Firebox. But I have to warn you beforehand. Though it looks ridiculous simple looking and it’s a £19.99 toy, this stuff is really a BADASS TOY.

Amazing, so now Rubik’s cube has it digital version? Well, yes. The puzzle cube has been transformed into a digital toy with touchscreen and built-in memory. I assume the toy will need a battery to operate and it will turns into a black box when shut down. But it’s kind of unrealistic if you are the oldie-rubik’s puzzle solver because you can twist any block anymore.

This is the touchscreen version of the Rubik’s cube that first challenged puzzle-solvers nearly 30 years ago. Instead of turning each face of the cube to line up colors, modern-day players need only lightly swipe a section of lights with a finger in the same manner as the original.

Touch sensors on all sides detect your finger and a motion detecting accelerometer determines which face is active; the colors change according to the direction of your finger’s swipe. Its built-in memory saves your puzzle so you can pick up where you left off. It can offer hints, or if you are truly exasperated, it can solve itself. The cube recharges in eight hours using its display stand, allowing one hour of play.

The most surprising fact is in the pricing. Believe me, $149.95 for a puzzle toy looks pretty expensive… Well, if you think you can afford it, head on over to Hammacher to get one.

This funny looking and dangerously tasty rubik’s sandwich is made of cubes of pastrami, kielbasa, pork fat, salami, and two types of cheddar. However, by judging from its look, the meat is not properly cooked yet. So I can make sure Rubix Cubewich is not edible and it’s only there for show instead of filling your empty stomach…

SolidAlliance Japanese manufacturer is introducing you to their latest Memory stick, but it’s a weird one. Well, it’s not really ‘weird’ but I think it’s more about the uniqueness that no one else have before. SolidAlliance Mnemosyne, is a 16GB memory stick that has a super complex ‘cap’ to open before you can get access to your data inside the flash drive. Guess why? Well, it’s because of the cap is actually a puzzle cube!

To open the cap, it doesn’t require Einstein brain. All you need is a basic skills such in building LEGO tower or car or something else similar. Pretty easily when you’ve get through the puzzle once.

The most mind-blowing stuff is, this SolidAlliance Mnemosyne will cost you a whopping $10,000 to own one. This is certainly one of the most luxurious flash drive we have ever seen so far. Wow for that.

SolidAlliance Mnemosyne is created by Toshi Satoji and Katsuya Masaki, built everything from aluminum, and they are the masterminds behind this Puzzle cube flash drive. Impressive, huh?

I’ve seen some of the cool Rubik’s cube, and a mind blowing God level Pentaminx Dodecahedral Rubik’s Cube. However, I haven’t seen any puzzle cube similar to this transformed Mirror IQ block by Brando.com.

It’s a single colored Rubik’s cube, with a mirror surface and uncommon shape of blocks! You won’t find any ‘cube’ at all in this Rubik’s cube. Perhaps that’s why Brando call it “IQ Blocks”.

Features:

Transformed Mirror IQ Blocks – Silver

Left and Right Brain Exercise

Smooth Rotation, Easy to Handle, Light weight

Good for Creative Thinking & Improve both your IQ & EQ

Hints: Tea Break & Retry it

Functions: Left & Right Brain training, IQ & EQ Training, home and office fun

Dimension(approx.): 5.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm

Once you scrambled the position, you will obtain a really weird looking with no similarity at each of the sides. Now this is a real new challenge for cube-solver. Challenger are challenged by shapes instead of color like the traditional Rubik’s Cube.

However, if you choose to use it for desk decoration only, you can still use it as a mirror since the surface can reflect your face pretty well.

If you are interested, you can find more image gallery at Brando.com. The price is only $29.

Rubik’s lamp is an innovative project based on the popular toy from the eighties. Much like the original Rubik’s cube, the lamp is composed of 26 smaller cube-like pieces, whose interlocking shapes fit onto each other.

The rotation of each face of the main cube allows the arrangement of up to forty-three quintillion different combinations, each one providing different lighting. Colored patterns and chaotic, kaleidoscopic lighting can be created by not leaving the main rows parallel to each other.

Rubik’s Lamp is a creative solution for customized lighting, and, just like the original toy, presents itself as a fun, challenging puzzle.

Rubik’s Lamp is one of the most awesome lamp concept I’ve ever come across this year 2008. You can get millions of color combination by twisting and twirling the cube or just leave there by default to get a full solid color on the each side of the cube.

I’ll guarantee you’ll smack it to the ground as you’ll out of your mind playing this “dangerous” toy.

This toy is dangerous because it will immediately drive you to nuts or crazy state and completely bring down your sanity and start shouting like monkey!

And that’s will happen after just a simple twists and turns by your granny. Never underestimated the looks of this super puzzle cube. You’ll know how hard it is if you’ve ever played the 3×3 or even the 5×5 puzzle cube.

It will takes forever to solve the puzzle and I’m sure if you’ve managed to recover the puzzle, you won’t do it again as it’s super difficult! So, I’m not recommended you to have this toy if you’ve already stress enough on your work!

But if you dare to take the challenge, head on to Thinkgeek to find out more. It’s should be around $60 to own one.
