Logitech is releasing their latest streaming gadget called Harmony Link. This device is will transform supported smartphone or tablet (such as iPad) into a cool remote control with gazillion of feature for your entertainment system. Logitech Harmony is looking like a black flat rounded glossy stone from the top. It has nothing (such as button) to interact with except the ports on the sideways.

This Logitech Harmony Link is capable of replacing up to 8 remote controls in one device, turning your iPad or other smartphone/tablet into an ultimate remote controls. Currently this device is supporting over 5,000+ brands with more added every day. You can even visit www.myharmony.com by connecting the Harmony Link to your home WIFI network and tell Logitech what equipment you are using if it’s not listed. They’ll take care of the technical settings so you can use the harmony link on your device.

The most convenient feature is the app for your iPad or smartphone. I love the idea that my iPad could be the remote control to most of my device. Also, the in-app TV listings is easy to navigate around.

You can watch the following video to see the demonstration from Logitech:

Logitech Harmony Link is currently available for $99.99 at Logitech store. Get one if you are interested to retire most of your remote control that have been nesting your TV rack for a long time.

Almost anything you could think of, “there’s an app for that”, Steve Jobs said. Yep, why not? Because now you can even turn your iPhone into remote control for your RC toys by a simple dongle that will plug into the 3.5mm slot.

This is the Apptoyz dongle, all you have to do is to plug it in, download to the special apps available in the website, and you are good to go!

There is no more stick to pull or twist, just a slide to the touchscreen can send your RC car on its way or fly a RC helicopter to the sky.

There are two model that will be available later in this year, RC car and RC Helicopter that will cost $30 and $80 respectively.

Like what you’ve seen above, this Crestron iPanel can basically turn your iPad into an ultimate remote to control your household electronics. The Crestron iPanel is like a case with additional buttons at both sides, where it will host the iPad in the landscape position.

Without the iPad, the Crestron iPanel can still be used, however, after adding iPad onto the provided slot, the whole iPad is now your personal hi-tech remote control that can hook up with most of gadgets at your home. There are 13 dedicated buttons provided in order to help users navigate easily and I think it’s certainly good. However, for a steep price at $500, I’m doubt anyone would get one unless they’ve got a lot of money to burn.

Want to test how Harry potter does his magic? This Magic Wand remote control with let you feel it! It’s a new remote control that detects a certain movement or flicks to determine its command and fire up the relevant ‘magic’ to control your TV, DVR or almost anything that could be controlled with remotes!

Tame the Beast of HD Pictures with this magic device!

You know you have always wanted to be a wizard. But not one of those swish and flick wizards from the movies. You want to be the Dungeons & Dragons wizard – the party’s controller. See that word there? CONTROLLER. It means you control the battlefield; you control everything! Sure, you’re squishy and sometimes there’s collateral damage when you let out a blast, but it’s all in a day’s work. As a wizard, you have a choice in implements, but everyone knows The Wand is the ultimate when you want to be an elite controller.
Teach it

Our Wand may not make legions of kobold minions explode into flames, but it will learn up to 13 commands from your existing remote controls and map them to particular magical motions. Flick the wand from side to side to flip the channels, twist the wand to turn up the volume. A beam of light will shoot out the unicorn tail hair and magic will happen! The Wand can learn from any remotes in your house and once you master its 13 movements, you can mastermind a symphony of electronic enjoyment from the comfort of your couch. Then, and only then, are you an epic level controller.

Featuring a car-like tissue holder where you can control its movement via remote control. Anything else you need to get a tissue is a basic driving skill similar to R/C car. So, whenever you are having flu, lazy to get up, no idea how to get a tissue without getting out of your bed, then you’ll just need to pick up the controller, drive it to your side, and you’ll get your tissue. Damn, this is a nonsense.

This gadget is only available in Japan for the equivalent price of $25. Pretty cheap actually… More detail on the video below:

Logitech Harmony 1100 is another Universal Remote Control this week after Sony Waterproof RM-PZ3SD. This universal remote control capable of replacing up to 15 remotes, recognizes more than 225,000 devices from around 5,000 renown manufacturers!

Damn, this stuff is useful. Besides it looks cool, this Logitech Harmony comes with 3.5-inch full-color touch screen, Customizable commands, icons and screens. Even better, it also equipped with rechargeable batteries. No more hassle to look for batteries when the batteries has been juiced out.

So you may ask, how to use this so called remote control, but it has fewer buttons? Where is the tiled buttons? Well, they have been switched into a touchscreen interface as the navigation panel. And all you have to do is connect the Harmony 1100 remote to your computer, and you’ll be guided through every step to synchronize the remote. Pretty nice, isn’t it? No more hassle on guessing which buttons for which function.
