New smartphone from Motorola is having a quite futuristic design. Known as the XT615 Android Smartphone, this phone was launched in Taiwan as one of the thin smartphone at 9.8mm only, running Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with MOTO Switch US 2.0 that is quite smart at detecting who’s the guy you often talked to and apps that you used the most and group it into the front menu.

Sadly, if you are looking for a speedy phone like similar to Galaxy S II, this Motorola XT615 will not be your option as it’s coming with slow 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM only. However, if performance is not your main aim, this phone is quite attractive as it has 4-inch touchscreen display, 8-megapixel camera with LED and front VGA camera for video chatting apps.

For storage, Motorola XT615 Android smartphone is coming with a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB and mini USB 2.0 connector. Other features such as Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and WiFi is also available. For battery life, Motorola XT615 Android smartphone is supplied with a 1390mAh battery that gives about 300 minutes of talk time.

Unfortunately, this Motorola X615 is not going to hit United States as it’s an exclusive offering from Taiwan Mobile for Taiwan market that will be available later in mid December 2011.

However, we are not sure whether Samsung will release this Pink vesion outside of Korea. No price mentioned either.

We are not sure if this smartphone is real or fake, but it seems it’s kind of limited edition of Blackberry 9980 smartphone (as the source indicated).

I like the design of this BlackBerry Proceeding smartphone. The dimension is pretty slim, has unique QWERTY interface, and it has a large screen. It seems there is a front-facing camera as well. Which mean you can use it for video chatting. Sadly, the full specification remains undisclosed for now. Hopefully, this won’t be a fake clone from China that is only worth the look…

Nokia had released the N9 smartphone which has been called as the first MeeGo-based all-screen (no button in the face) smartphone, and supposed to be the last on its kind if later the company decided to discard the MeeGo project. Their is nothing wrong with the OS anyways. It’s just losing its battle with the current hot Android OS and iOS and perhaps the market is cruel enough for small OS to survive. But looking at this Nokia N9, the MeeGo system looks very promising and not really a lose-before-battle kind device.

Nokia N9 is sporting a nice curved poly carbonate body with 3.9-inch AMOLED WVGA display, with gorilla glass protected. It’s said that the display support up to 854x480p resolution and there is an unique swipe gesture to replace the home button. The all-screen design looks pretty intriguing, however, those who have been accustomed to the traditional home button might have a little bit of hard time here.

As for the performance, Nokia N9 is coming with Cortex A8 1GHz GPU, PowerVR SGX530 GPU and 1GB of RAM. You can choose either 16GB or 64GB to come along with the phone when purchasing, which obviously the 16GB has a nice price cut from the larger model.

Looking to the rear side, you will find a 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus sensor and dual LED flash. Through the eye of this lens, user is capable of doing video recording on 720p mode.

Nokia N9 has come with built-in GPS functionality, enriched with Nokia Maps-based free turn-by-turn drive and walk navigation on the phone using a new dedicated Drive app. As for the connection, Nokia N9 is supporting quad band GSM/EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, bluetooth 2.1, WiFi b/g/n, NFC support and web browser with Webkit 2 technology to support HTML 5 websites viewing.

The specs might looks pretty normal for a modern phone, but what make it different is the MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan mobile operating system. This system support three home views, which has been stated as a quick access to the “most important things people do with a modern phone,” (according to Marko Ahtisaari – Nokia head of design). Those including:

Easy access and organize applications

easy viewing of missed calls, incoming emails, SMS, or Social media updates

easy access to a list of all running applications or most recent used applications

Nokia N9 is all about on-screen touch interaction, including the easy swipe gesture to get back to the home screen wherever you are. This smartphone is set to release in this year, but the actual date is yet to be announced, as well as the pricing. But what we have known so far is that Nokia N9 will be released in three nice color series: magenta, cyan and black.

I’d personal go for a cyan because it looks groovy/lively, but the black style is not a bad choice either since it’s not glossy (no fingerprints everywhere except the screen).

If you have been using both smartphone and tablet for your work, chance are, you might have thought that it would be great if you can have both of them carried in one piece where you don’t have to get a separated case or bag to touted them. ASUS offered such a solution and it’s been officially released as the name of Padfone.

Generally speaking, ASUS Padfone is a tablet with slot where you can fit in another ASUS phone for hybrid purpose. The phone will be docked at the rear side of the tablet, and it’s protected with a special case that has a small opening for the camera lens to work.

According to what we have read in our source, This ASUS Padfone is two individual devices that could be used separately. However, they can super-charged each other when docked together, like the smartphone will provide dedicated rear facing camera for the tablet for video recording. However, as far as how these two devices can super-charged each other in term of performance, we don’t have a clue yet.

ASUS haven’t released the exact specifications for both devices yet, and how they are going to work on each other is still a mystery. We do hope that the hybrid mode could at least double up the overall performance. But it should be about the phone to provide the 3G/4G functionality while the tablet itself is purely an offline-mode tablet.

As far as the screen size, ASUS Padfone tablet is having 10-inch display and the smartphone is having 4-inch display. It’s such a waste that you can’t really enjoy extra screen when they are on the hybrid-mode and the smartphone is completely hidden inside the tablet.

We will keep you posted once we have got enough information from ASUS.

You have got to believe that most hardware and gadgets is going to get mixed up together someday. For example, tablet, smartphone, digital camera and laptop will eventually moving toward each other and mixed in one. I believe someday (and it won’t be a long wait) that a device that could support all of them will be manufactured. At the moment, Altek, a China-based company has started the obvious merge between digital camera and smartphones. With their Altek Leo A14, they’ve blurred the line between digital camera and smartphone.

Leo A14 is a fully functional smartphone that has been equipped with amazing 14-megapixels camera sensor, including the digital camera-like lens that could extends in and out.

As for the specification of Altek Leo A14, sadly enough it has a rather slow CPU at 800MHz only. However, this shouldn’t be the hindrance for those who love hybrid gadget. It still fast enough to do any tasks.

Altek Leo A14 has been packed with 3.2-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, running Android 2.1 OS, connectivity like WiFi, bluetooth, GPS also existed, as well as microSD card slot to expand the built-in capacity.

As for the camera technology, Altek Leo A14 has included 3X optical zoom, Xenon flash, can autofocus and the 14-megapixels that’s rather surpising (Nokia N8 has 12-megapixels only). Of course, this is just beginning. I’m sure someone BIG (Sony, Samsung, Canon, etc) has already had this kind of gadget hidden in their sleeve.

Disney Mobile has just announced a range of Disney themed Android smartphone that will be a hit in Kids market. But no worry, it’s not that childish anyway.
The Disney Smartphone is running Android 2.2 OS, has 9.6-MP camera, 3.8-inch 3D Display that require no 3D glasses to view the eye-popping effects.

What’s special in these Disney Smartphones are the *@disney.ne.jp MMS address, Diney-themed home screens, apps, widgets and emoticons.

Expect to see these Disney Android Smartphones to hit the stores on February 2011.

According to Matthew at GadgetVenue, Google has announced that their latest smartphone which has known as Nexus S is going to get a Super Clear LCD Display for Russia market (and some countries in Europe), instead of the default Super AMOLED display.

This Gingerbread powered smartphone is going to be available soon in US on December 16th, followed by UK on December 20th with Super AMOLED display edition. There is no details yet when the Super Clear LCD display model will hit the countries in Europe including Russia, but it’s has been confirmed that those countries won’t be able to enjoy the magic of Super AMOLED display yet. Reason? Perhaps it’s due to the shortage of AMOLED displays. It seems Samsung still unable to troubleshoot this problem which they have faced previously on their Samsung Galaxy S smartphones release.

Their target on 2010 has already set on 20 millions smartphones by the end of 2010, which is just a month away from accomplishing their goal. If they can keep manufacturing quality smartphones offering with their Super AMOLED display, there might be a avalanche effect for their sales record.

Also, there is no statement from Samsung yet, but it seems they’re going to include the sales of their Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet to the finaly counting which might just pass through their sales target since the tablet is so popular right now. However, rumor remains a rumor. We just hope Samsung can keep cranking out new extraordinary gadgets to fulfill our neverending demands.

LG is currently showing off their Windows Phone 7 smartphones, a.k.a. the Optimus 7 or E900 at the IFA trade show in Berlin. This smartphone is a QWERTY type, and boost the ability to share multimedia files (HD video, High quality image and music) easily to other DLNA complaint device that residing in the same WiFi zone.

So how easy in sharing files between devices? Exactly like the above picture, all you have to do is drag your media files and throw/slide it upward to the screen (e.g. a DLNA HDTV is in front of you) and the media files will start playing in that device immediately.

“This unique feature is a direct response to the growing need for technologies that empower users to share multimedia content across electronic devices,” said Mr. Seong-jin Park, Vice President of Mobile Handset R&D Center at LG Electronics Inc. “LG Optimus 7 smartphones will be at the center of a complete entertainment experience, representing LG’s leadership in mobile convergence.”

LG Optimus 7 Windows Phone 7 smartphone is expected to become available next month on October 2010.
