Recent geeky gadget, although it’s much look like an umbrella (it is an umbrella!) have an extra ordinary ability to delivered undisturbed 3D tunes of music while you are walking across the rainy street.

Oto-Shigure: Umbrella with built-in Speaker

This umbrella is called Oto-Shigure, a prototype by Yusuke Kamiyama and Mai Tanaka in collaboration with Keio University and Toa Engineering.

Oto-Shigure has a built-in speaker and “vibration motor” on each edge of the umbrella. The speaker and vibration motor will then create a Sound Space inside the umbrella scoop, usually where the head of the user will host in. Thus, the music is solely tune for you without disturbing others since they won’t hear anything clearly.

Oto-Shigure: Frame Work

The downside is, while you won’t disturb other while listening to your folk songs, other people might be able to break your enjoyment. Such as when you are standing in a crowded street or walking through a super traffic jam road. You’ll hear outer voices and that could disturb your ears.

But Oto-Shigure will become a nice mood builder, especially when you use it for a slow walk at the quiet, green and rainy park. I will feel so romantic if I can umbrella my lover and me, while tuning a good and nice love songs!
