DIY wall clock is coming with all of the essential parts for a clock, but they are all separated so you have to put the puzzle piece together before you can use it. Half an Hour Clock design is an unique clock concept that has a half body of the ordinary clock instead of full. The clock is still functional like always, but once the hands are crossing the half body, they will be exposed to the outside of the clock on the other half as if they are thrusting out of the clock’s wall.

This is a wall clock which uses element of surprise. It has an intact body with all the side walls, except it’s shape is a half circle. Although the arms look like they will be trapped, they pass through to the outside and still function.

Half an Hour clock design is found on UfukKeskin. I’m quite a fans of unique wall clock design as I’ve collected some of them. So if this Half an Hour ever hit the store, I’m find way to get one even if I’m at the other part of the world.

Anyway, if UfukKeskin is also the designer of the Sheetseat chair if you remember. His designs are unique and I’m sure it would make into the production in the future.

The wood one looks pretty cool, but the blue one is lack of good printer. I can see lines created with printer head that supposed to use a refill ink with unproperly head cleaning. No offense though, if the creator can use a high quality printing device and high quality icons to create wall clock, this stuff will worth more than $30, especially for die-hard fans.

I should answer the question myself. No, you are not looking at an Identity Disc from Tron Legacy. Instead, it’s a new clock concept designed by Raunak Narang that supposed to be inspired by the Identity Disc itself when he was designing this Clock-O wall clock.

Clock-O wall clock is very chic and sexy for modern home. The reason is because this Clock-O wall clock is created with black piano surface finish, along with the two digital hands that show time with lines illuminations.

Obviously, this Clock-O wall concept is using LED based illumination for the best performance and battery longevity. The Clock-O wall clock itself is actually containing 4 layers of components in order to work. Like the picture shown above, the glossy surface is actually using a transparent (but with dark shade) polycarbonate shell. Follow up with the second layer with mini slots where the light from layer 3 can pass through. Finally, it’s then enclosed with another final layer to support the rear side.

The beauty of Clock-O wall concept is of course, the sexy and simple design of the circular clock. There is no need to have number on a clock anyway as we have been accustomed to the position and could tell time even without the numbers decorating the clock.

Korea designer Sejoon Kim is trying to be unique, so he have come up with an interesting clock design that looks like a huge size of mentos candy.

This wall clock has been dubbed as Vegue Clock, which apparently has a vague clock face. You can only see the clock hands in blur mode. However, that’s not how you use this Vegue clock. According to the designer, this Vegue clock concept is having a flexible face where you can push them to reveal the time. See the following image for details:

The hands of the clock are hidden behind a layer of stretchy fabric, and remain invisible as the time ticks away. So if you actually want to see the time you have to get up and press your hand into the fabric so that it stretches over the hands, making them visible” And it also equipped with GPS hardware so that the time is always accurate, no buttons or dials allowing it to be manually adjusted.

If your daily schedule is work at 9-to-5pm and sleep from 9-to-5am, this new clock design by LampLabs is really suitable for you. Well, I’m not working from 9-5 (it’s 9-9! ) so this stuff won’t fit me. This clock design is full expressing the life-cycle of a casual office worker that running on the rat race. 9-5 has been a great and stressful time for lots of worker in the world, so it’s better just eliminate those painful mark in the clock.

This 5-to-9 clock design dismissed the 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 hour mark and leaving 6, 7, 8 in the clock. Kind of lonely, and it clearly show us how pity we are with the time left for fun and doing all other stuffs beside sleep and work.

Most of us enjoy about 8 hours a day when we aren’t at work or asleep. Our time is precious, but it’s counterweighted by life’s necessities. This clock pokes fun at that reality while serving as a reminder to take advantage of life’s fleeting moments.

5-to-9 Clock is not just a concept and it’s actually available for purchase in white color (like the picture above), Cherry, Bamboo and Maple for price range between $85 to $110.

Someone with geeky head at Etsy is coming up with another geeky gadget made of recycled item. This time, a recycled magnetic tape reel is made into a usable clock that looks pretty cool for geeks.

This magnetic tape reel is the 10-inch aluminum Scotch model, combined with computer hard drive platters and one Quartz clock powered with 1 C battery. This Geeky wall clock is not available at Etsy for $47. This is really a great items and the seller has turned trash into treasure.

I’ve seen one in the past, the word clock that’s also tell time with word, in the pipe manner. QLOCKTWO Clock is different. The clock has a bigger dimension, shape like a big canvas pictures and it’s filled with alphabets in a random positions (10 columns x 11 rows of alphabets). QLOCKTWO clock will be able to blend into your house pretty well and it will gives you a better decoration that looks artistic and geeky.

So how will this QLOCKTWO clock display the time? it’s by lighting up the alphabets with contrast white to the black background. The mechanism is housed inside a wood box with painted acrylic or stainless steel face. Believe it or not, this stuff is handmade and the clock will have 6 languages version starting from English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and French.

The clock uses an atomic-synchronized time-signal receiver and automatically adjusts its brightness based on the ambient light around it. Pretty cool, but this clock is not a cheap stuff to get. It will cost you about €1,099.99 or about $1,565 to own one. A set of interchangeable color faceplate also available if you are willing to add €95 or $136 to the total of the price. This word clock is certainly a weird idea. Or I should labeled it as “new method” in time reading. You won’t see any numeric character on the clock. Instead, you will see the “It’s about” and on the other separated part, “Five minutes to” and the text will scroll to the related text such as “Three” to show 02:55/14.55.

From the physical design, you will see the clock as Pipe, Cylinder Tube or anything similar. You won’t see any ticking needles. The red mark act as the pointer and it will tells you the line that you need to read to tell the current time.

As its name suggests, Word Clock tells the time in words.

The clock consists of two adjacent rolls, contained in a clear acrylic tube. A red mark indicates the line that should be read to tell the time. The left roll spells out five minute increments of time. The right roll contains the numbers one to twelve, spelled out. The gearing is such that as the minutes turn to “twenty-five minutes to,” the hour roll advances.

Muller and van Dongen applied for a patent in the United States for their “Elongated Clock” in 1982 and the patent was granted in 1984. This design has been a classic ever since.

I’m not sure if you will need this clock or not because it’s the super XL size of digital wall clock!

It’s a big 1 meter by half a meter measurement and you can fool those dummies as if it’s a HDTV display!

The color of the LED like is extremely visible which allow you to read time clearly. Available in 4 colors display, from Red, Green, Blue and White. I’m curious how is the white color looks like but it seems I can’t find out any further about it.

Now there is no reason for you to false reading the time except you are blind! Available for as low as £49.95 and you can bring it home today! Only weight hundreds of grams although it’s a huge clock.
